Meet The Team

Anna Stout & Viper

Chief Executive Officer

Anna Stout is the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Roice-Hurst Humane Society. She has over a decade of both nonprofit and business experience as the founder and president of the Foundation for Cultural Exchange and owner of Transfinem Language and Cultural Services, and has served on state- and national-level boards and committees. She was also a dog training instructor and is a passionate lover of animals, words, and travel.

Since becoming CEO in June of 2015, Anna has focused much of her effort on building and strengthening local, regional, and statewide collaborative relationships with animal and non-animal welfare agencies.

When she’s not working, Anna’s passions are travel, writing, language, and the nonprofit world. She has a dog, Rupert, four cats, Poopies, Bella, Ruby, and Tatertot, and a nanday conure named Agador Spartacus.

Coraline

Cat Executive Officer

Coraline was adopted by the team in 2015 after she was found protecting her litter of kittens near an oil field, eating rabbits to stay alive and suffering frostbite on the tips of her ears. Even back then, Coraline’s innate leadership skills were clear, and now she is the boss of the shelter! Coraline’s duties include quality control of all boxes that come into the shelter, providing exemplary customer service, and acting as an ambassador for office cats everywhere.

Megan Hume & Carson

Executive Assistant

Megan started at Roice-Hurst as the receptionist in 2018, but her innate customer service, people, and organizational skills quickly moved her into the position of Volunteer Coordinator and now the Executive Assistant for our CEO.  As a graduate from CMU with a bachelor’s in sociology, Megan learned how societies function and felt inspired to be a part of a non-profit, where community outreach and teamwork is a must. Her passion for the organization increases every time she witnesses an adoption.

Megan was born and raised in Grand Junction. She has been the go-to for pet-sitting and has owned animals throughout her life. She has two dogs, Sami and Mojo. She spends a large portion of her free time working on photography, hiking, and art journaling.

 Jenna Kretschman & Ali

Communications Coordinator

Jenna Kretschman became involved at Roice-Hurst in 2018 after learning of the cat overpopulation problem in the Grand Valley and signed up as a kitten foster and volunteer, where she found her passion for animal welfare. She was hired as our Foster & Volunteer Coordinator while studying mass communication at Colorado Mesa University, an education that she now uses daily as our Communications Coordinator. Jenna is responsible for content creation, newsletters, social media, public relations, this website, and more. In her free time, she enjoys jewelry-making, riding her bike, and spending time with her two cats, Peach & Plum, and poodle, Kiwi Bug, all of whom were adopted from Roice-Hurst!

Connor Kain & Peaches

Bookkeeper

Connor joined the Roice-Hurst team in 2016. As the Bookkeeper, he ensures the smooth operation of the financial management of our nonprofit. When he’s not working, Connor enjoys brewing his own beer, gardening, hiking, and spending time with his dogs, Ruby & Sammy, and two cats, Willow & Duncan, all adopted from Roice-Hurst.

Louise Knight & Jelly Bean

Donor Relations Manager

Louise joined the Roice-Hurst team in May of 2023 with a background in communications, community outreach and donor development. She fell in love with Colorado’s beauty from a young age while visiting the state with family and has called it home since 2016. Previously, she fundraised for Rocky Mountain PBS, and throughout her life she’s always been passionate about animals, the outdoors, travel, education, and the arts. She earned her BA in Philosophy, French & Italian from Emory University and holds a Master’s in Library Science. When not at work connecting with and recognizing valued donors, partners, prospects, and colleagues, you’ll find her out on a trail or around town in Fruita!

Mila Revelle & Eclipse

Shelter Manager

Mila joined our team in 2018 and held three different positions before becoming our Shelter Manager. She is in charge of ensuring the day-to-day shelter operations run smoothly at our Grand Junction and Delta facilities. Lauren McCrary & Neelix

Foster & Volunteer Coordinator

Lauren McCrary joined the team in 2022 with a background in nonprofit work and public relations. She has a passion for animals and giving back to her community, so it’s no surprise that she was a Roice-Hurst volunteer prior to being hired! Outside of work, Sierra enjoys mudding, boating, snowboarding, and spending time with her dog, Lenny, and cat, John.

Jazmin Skinner & Felix
