Crisis Boarding

If a personal crisis threatens to permanently separate you and your pet — like housing issues, domestic violence, financial hardship, etc. — and you need temporary pet care while you get back on your feet, Roice-Hurst Humane Society’s crisis boarding program covers up to 30 days of boarding at one of our partner boarding facilities. Roice-Hurst understands how crucial pets are to overall wellness, and we strive to keep pets and their people together whenever possible. This program is made possible by Roice-Hurst’s generous donors. If you need assistance from our Crisis Boarding program, please submit the form below. You can expect to be contacted within 48 hours Monday-Friday. Questions? Please contact our Animal Resource Center Coordinator at 970-434-7337 ext. 103 or info@rhhumanesociety.org.

Guidelines

  • Our Crisis Boarding program’s purpose is to provide temporary care for pets whose owners would not be able to afford or find temporary care on their own. Please reserve this resource for those in need.
  • This program is dependent on availability within our partner boarding facilities. Roice-Hurst cannot guarantee boarding assistance within specific dates or duration.
  • Please note that the pets are housed in boarding facilities, not on-site at Roice-Hurst.
  • Acceptance into this program is based on the applicant’s long-term ability to care for their pet.
  • If the pet is not picked up from boarding within the agreed upon time frame (up to 30 days), the pet will become adoptable through Roice-Hurst Humane Society.
  • Depending on the applicant’s financial situation, a discounted weekly boarding fee may be requested on a case-by-case basis.
  • The end goal of this program is reunification of a pet and its owner. Click here if you are looking to rehome a pet instead.
