The best way to prevent crowded shelters and pet overpopulation is to spay or neuter your pet. If you have a pet that has not been spayed or neutered and you can’t afford the full cost of a spay/neuter procedure at your regular veterinarian, Roice-Hurst Humane Society may be able to provide a voucher for a discounted spay/neuter surgery at one of our partner vet clinics. This program is funded by the Colorado Pet Overpopulation Fund and Roice-Hurst’s generous donors.
If you need spay/neuter assistance, please submit the form below. You can expect to be contacted within 48 hours Monday-Friday. Questions? Please contact our Animal Resource Center Coordinator at 970-434-7337 ext. 103 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
- A limited number of vouchers are available per month on a first-come, first-served basis for pet owners who qualify based on financial need. After the monthly limit is reached, applicants may be added to a waiting list.
For owned dogs and cats, a limited number of vouchers for $30 off a spay/neuter surgery are available for low-income pet owners. Surgery may be performed at Animal Birth Control, Palisade Pet Care, Clifton Animal Hospital, or Footprints Animal Hospital in Mesa County or at Grand Mesa Veterinary Hospital in Delta. If you would prefer to use your regular veterinarian for the procedure, please contact your veterinarian directly to see if they accept our vouchers. We can issue up to 6 vouchers for owned pets per household due to Mesa County pet ownership regulations.
For feral/community cats, we can provide a voucher for $35 off of a spay surgery or $25 off of a neuter surgery performed at Animal Birth Control. You will be responsible for covering any remaining balance. There is no limit to the number of vouchers we can issue for community cats.
Our spay/neuter vouchers are a resource for pet owners who can’t afford to have their pet spayed or neutered by their regular veterinarian at full price. Please reserve this resource for those who are not currently in a financial position to cover the full cost of a spay/neuter surgery.
